Yes, I know it’s July. Trust me, that fact is not lost on me. This was a very long and difficult off-season. I had bold plans of getting back to my oldest project car, FUBAR, but the PPIR asphalt (and wall) had other plans. This is a decent visual summary of how the offseason was spent; the proverbial “before and after”.

Enough to Go Racing Again, Miller Garage, July 2026

These pictures are almost a betrayal of the truth, though. They don’t show the measuring, cutting, welding, drilling, grinding, vacuum bagging, wrenching, machining, electroplating, painting, planning, saving, waiting, or spending to get back on the track again. They also omit the many long hours on the phone, perusing Facebook marketplace, or browsing eBay in an attempt to piece everything back together; all done outside business hours and on borrowed energy.

This is what it takes, though. This is a beautiful sport when all goes well but it bites back when things go wrong. You take the good with the bad and, if you’re doing it right, you learn and you grow through the hard times. So onward and upward is where we go from here. In that spirit, it is with fantastic gratitude that I announce my partners for the 2026 racing season, and hopefully beyond.

My Wife

At this point it’s pretty obvious to me that my family would be tickled if I decided to pursue other interests. Motorcycle racing is dangerous, expensive, and time-consuming. In spite of the downsides, it’s something that I really love doing a lot, it makes me very happy to do it, and my passion for it is easily visible to anyone who knows me, including my family. In every conceivable measure my wife, Kori, remains my biggest supporter. I’m grateful to her for many things, including her active support of the craziest hobby I’ve ever had.

Sportbike Track Gear

Sportbike Track Gear [STG] is my oldest motorsport sponsor. I love doing business with them because they are, themselves, racers and always understand where I’m coming from. The point of contact now, Max Van, is a solid MotoAmerica rider, himself, and is always responsive, professional, and helpful, as is the rest of the staff. Over the years, STG has helped me with all manner of riding gear and racing consumables ranging from racing suits and gloves to brakepads and fluids. Boulder Motorsports

Boulder Motorsports hardly needs an introduction from me. They’re a world class Ducati tuner located right in our backyard. I’ve been taking my bike to Boulder Motorsports for years and have always been impressed with their professionalism, knowledge, and willingness to help a Duc racer out in a pinch. Equally impressive is that they will always take few minutes to talk shop with me because, like me, they’re enthusiasts. After being a loyal, all things Ducati customer for years, I finally worked up the courage to ask for some support and was pleasantly surprised when I was welcomed into the supported rider fold. Of all my sponsors, this one feels the most like a relationship that has grown over the years and evolved into what it currently is. I’m very pleased to be representing Boulder Motorsports at the track this year and would emphatically encourage anyone with Ducati needs to reach out to them for help. I promise you will not be disappointed. They’re the best.

Motowheels

Anyone who’s been racing a Ducati for more than a few rounds knows that these bikes can be quite particular to ride. Because most of us are not professional racers, sometimes the changes required to accommodate a mortal skillset can be quite major. Enter Motowheels. Motowheels has the best inventory of high end Ducati racing inventory on the web. Offset triples, billet fuel pump brackets, Ohlins inserts and steering dampers, rearsets, folding levers; whatever you need to upgrade your Duc, they probably have. As I also discovered this winter, if it’s not listed on their website, giving them a call can also bear fruit when you’re searching for something hard to find. They helped me out in a major way to replace numerous demolished components on my bike and I’m grateful to have them as a supporter. 64 Degree Racing

Everyone in the MRA knows 64 degree racing and probably uses some of their riding gear. They are truly part of our racing community. They’re out at every round helping people with riding gear and racing consumables and I’m really happy to be partnering with someone so integral to our group. I can say with recent experience that their base layers are absolutely clutch. I showed up to Round 3 in my old, torn up base layers, which have served me well for a few years, but they’re more of a universal, all season base layer that work best in heat once they’re saturated with sweat. The 64 degree racing compression suit base layers, on the other hand, were an immediate hot weather upgrade from the moment I put them on. They combine Italian Lycra and ventilation zones to control body heat in a way tailor-made for racing under a thick leather suit in sweltering summer heat. They also look rad. In my opinion, critical riding gear. Check them out.

REV’IT

The second you go down on a bike, you immediately understand the importance of good riding gear. Alpinestars has been my brand of choice for over a decade, but after my most recent crash I thought I’d try something different out just for fun. At the insistence of my loving wife, I went to look at REV’IT suits at their chic downtown Denver location just to see how they fit. I was immediately blown away with how well I slipped into one of their racing suits. The one we ended up buying feels custom made, the fit is that good. It comes with all the standard features you’d expect of modern racing suits: thick, but comfortable leather, sliders in all the right places, expansion zones to accommodate airbags, and, although REV’IT is somewhat of a premium brand, they still offer exceptional value for anyone on a budget with the Argon 3 suit. I ended up with a mid-tier Control suit with some Rossi yellow sewn in and couldn’t be happier with the fit and performance. It goes on easy and, like any good suit, when you’re riding the gear is the last thing on your mind. REV’IT has a partnership with the MRA and, now, I’m happy to have them as a partner as well. ARK Motorsports

Rick Guzenski is a friend of mine and our friendship actually precedes the creation of ARK Motorsports. When I found out that he was opening up shop, I wanted to represent ARK on principle because Rick is one of the highest integrity people I know. He’s one of maybe 2 or 3 people I’d trust to do prep work on my race bike because he’s highly competent, detail oriented, and he’ll treat your bike as if it were his own: with care. I’m happy to endorse and represent ARK Motorsports.

Design Release Solutions

This entry is shamelessly self-serving. I’ve been a stay at home Dad for a few years now and reached a point about 6 months ago where the thought of denying my engineering brain something to do was going to result in an implosion of some kind. I bought a computer with some horsepower, a CAD license for my favorite design software, and started doing some modeling work in my spare time just to scratch my engineering itch. There was some word of mouth about my situation that made a few rounds and ultimately resulted in the formation of Design Release Solutions LLC.
